.A place for deep soulful music

2007-12-07

... this is not meant to be a dance mix in the first instance. My aim is to move your mind. So try to relaxe listening to the music, maybe lie down and follow your thoughts. In this mix I tried to trace the memories of waking up at night when I was a child. I would often spend hours half awake fantasizing some form of abstract spectactles that took place on my closet.

Do you remember the first time you FELT house music?

"This is my Garage" is my approach to capture the feeling and spirit of the first years of my house music addiction and though it's not representative for all the styles that were important to me back then - sure, there was breakbeat, there was DETROIT TECHNO, there was german/belgian/dutch TEKKKNO - i hope it captures the mood and spirit of the garage vibe which i fell in love with back then and which is hugely influential to my musical taste until this very day.

Forget all the experimental klickyklacky that you've been tortured with during the last years for a moment, this is how we did it back then.

Electronic dance music with soul. turn it up!

ps: vocal dispraisers better avoid this set. :)

It was just the right time to do this mix. Since a lot of time passed i was wondering how quickly all the months have flown. My musical interest was still unbroken but i didnt find the time to browse the collection, preselect the tracks and finally mix it. In order to express my emotions and memories I selected a few tracks that i listened to during this pleasant time and just mixed them.
